Below are the steps Lisa uses when creating a pastel or oil portrait. If you
live in another state or overseas, please click here for photo guidelines.
1. Lisa will call you to set up a time to photograph the subject in your
home. This is especially convenient for children as they feel more
comfortable and photograph better in a familiar setting. Lisa uses a high
quality digital camera for the photography session. In most cases this
appointment takes less than 20 minutes.
2. Lisa will e-mail or print and mail your photographs to you. The
photographs will be numbered for easy reference. You will choose a pose
and expression you feel best represent the personality of the subject and
let Lisa know the number associated with that photograph.
3 Lisa will create the portrait based on the photograph you have chosen.
Completion time varies depending on the type and complexity or the
portrait. Most head and shoulders pastels take 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
4. Lisa will call you when the portrait is complete to make delivery
arrangements. Lisa prefers to make delivery to your local professional
framer to minimize the risk of damage to the artwork prior to framing. At
the time of delivery Lisa is available to make minor changes to the portrait
to make sure you are completely happy with the results.*
5. Payment for your portrait is expected at the time of delivery and
acceptance of the artwork. A deposit is required (at the time of
photography of the subject) for orders totaling $1000.00 or more.
* Your portrait is guaranteed to look like the subject. If you are not
completely thrilled with the results, you are not expected to pay for the
portrait.
